Stronachs awarded advanced cyber security accreditation

Published: March 29, 2024

Stronachs LLP, a leading Scottish law firm with offices in Aberdeen and Inverness, has achieved an advanced cyber security accreditation, Cyber Essentials Plus, following an independent audit in March 2024.

Cyber security experts Mitigo, who carried out the technical audit, is a strategic partner of the Law Society of Scotland and specialises in the professional services sector, with clients in law, finance, accountancy, architecture, and engineering.

With the volume of cyber-attacks being reported on UK businesses and organisations ever increasing, the firm recognises the importance of strengthening its cyber security position beyond the basic self-assessment accreditation.

Cyber Essentials Plus is a higher level of certification that requires an independent audit and review of an organisation’s cyber security controls. It can only be completed once the Cyber Essentials self-assessment has been carried out.

David Chalmers, Partner and Head of Employment, commented: “As a firm, we are trusted by our clients to safeguard highly confidential, commercially sensitive, and personal information.

“We recognise the importance of investing in cyber security measures and this accreditation stands as testament to the work undertaken by the firm to strengthen our position and demonstrate our commitment to clients.”

Stronachs’ employment team is certified by the Law Society of Scotland in data protection and advise clients on all aspects of data protection law.
